The ASUS MeMO  Pad Smart and MeMOPad join the tablet party

The ASUS tablet family just got a little bit bigger with the introduction of the ASUS MeMO Pad Series (pronounced mi:mo). The 10-inch ASUS MeMO Pad Smart and the 7-inch ASUS MeMO Pad have done away with their stable mates’ tablet docks and are dedicated pad-only Android tablets.

The ASUS MeMO Pad Smart features Android Jelly Bean 4.1 and comes with NVIDIA’s Tegra 3, the world’s first quad-core mobile processor, meaning it delivers performance in droves. Together with a 12‐core GeForce GPU, ASUS MeMO Pad Smart is able to create immersive gaming environments and play HD video on its 10- inch, 1280 x 800 IPS panel. Those images are complemented by SonicMaster-enhanced audio, putting it in the same aural league as more established tablets in the ASUS stable.

ASUS MeMO Pad Smart comes with a 5-megapixel main camera with auto focus to take quality images, and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera for video conferencing. It has 16GB of internal storage, with memory expansion options coming in the form of Micro USB, Micro HDMI, and Micro SD card slots (up to 64GB SDHC).

ASUS MeMO Pad Smart sports a chassis with a concentric circle finish. Available in Midnight Blue, Fuchsia Pink, and Crystal White, it tips the scales at just under 580g and is less than 1cm thick.

Prior to launch, ASUS’ only offering in the 7-inch tablet market was the Nexus 7, now it has another in the form of the ASUS MeMO Pad.

ASUS MeMO Pad is ASUS ’ first 7-inch value tablet, and is priced to sell with a RRP starting from $129. You get a lot of bang for your buck too – what you get is a tablet geared for mobile entertainment thanks to a 1GHz CPU, SonicMaster-enhanced audio, and 10-point multi-touch display. And it’s a tablet you can take outdoors too, with a 350-nits rated brightness ensuring that whatever is on screen can be seen even under glaring sunlight.

ASUS MeMO Pad has a front-facing 1-megapixel, 720p HD camera and comes with 8GB or 16GB of internal storage, along with a Micro SD card expansion slot with support for an additional 32GB of storage to go along with 5GB of ASUS Web Storage that comes with it.

ASUS MeMO Pad has a diamond checkered finish that is available in Sugar White, Titanium Gray, and Cherry Pink.
