If you’re partial to a dirty burger, you can keep your arteries clean
The best drink to have with your cheeseburger isn’t Diet Coke, fresh juice or even water. It’s a cup of tea. New research from the University of Montreal, Canada, shows that a meal high in saturated fat has an adverse effect on your arteries, causing them to constrict and disrupting your blood flow-all within two hours of eating.
Protect yourself from this shortterm downside with a humble brew. In Europe scientists working at Italy’s University of L’Aquila’ have found that you’ll get an instant boost in blood flow with a single cuppa. This was enough to increase artery dilation by 20%, off setting the ill effects of any junk food you eat with it (you’ll get greater protection if you drink it black). So now any time can be burger time, just so long as it’s also tea time.
